A key offshore-drilling policy that includes safety measures implemented after the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill was finalized by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. The policy requires independent blowout-preventer reviews and also covers new well-design standards. "We are reviewing the rule and hope that they carefully considered the language used in the document to allow certainty and clarity for the industry.
